Recommendation to introduce world class Euro 5 petrol in the country, local oil refineries were directed to produce Euro 5 standard petrol till the import of world class petrol starts. According to details, a review meeting on air pollution situation was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A 15-point action plan was presented to the Prime Minister at the meeting. The Prime Minister expressed concern over the rising air pollution. The meeting briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan on the smog situation. Prime Minister Imran Khan was informed about the action plan report that it has been recommended to implement the Electric and Hackles policy. It has also been recommended to import Eurofive petrol in Pakistan.
The report suggests that modern methods will be adopted to destroy crop residues and motorcycle rickshaws will be powered by electric engines. Chairman CDA said that electric buses will be on the roads in Islamabad from March. Expressing concern over the rising environmental pollution, the Prime Minister said that implementation of the action plan to reduce environmental pollution should be ensured within a month.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Imran Khan lauded the efforts of the provincial and district governments for the fight against polio and said that the polio workers reaching out to remote and difficult areas are rendering national service to the best performing polio workers. Rewards should be planned, we should all work together to eradicate polio, and vaccination campaigns should be intensified in view of the new type of corona omecron.
