Long queues of vehicles and motorcycles lined up at petrol pumps across the country. Despite the announcements made by OGRA and the Ministry of Petroleum on November 25 to ensure supply of petroleum products at petrol pumps, long queues of vehicles and motorcycles have formed at petrol pumps across the country.

The Petroleum Dealers Association is insisting that all petrol pumps in the country will be closed from 6 am on November 25, due to which a sea of citizens has come to the petrol pumps across the country. Citizens are trying to buy as many petroleum products as possible before the possible closure of petrol pumps.

On the other hand, OGRA has mobilized its machinery to restore normal supply of petroleum products across the country.

According to media reports, OGRA has deployed its enforcement teams to prevent closure of petrol pumps. It was informed that OGRA enforcement teams would monitor the situation in the field and strict action would be taken against those who disrupted the supply in any way. OGRAM has directed all oil marketing companies to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products at all outlets.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Petroleum has also mobilized to restore petrol supply after the oil marketing companies and dealers association announced a nationwide strike from November 25 and closure of petrol pumps. The Ministry of Petroleum has announced that tankers have been dispatched for efficiency in oil supply. On November 25, petrol pumps of PSO, Shell, Total and other companies across the country will remain open.

It was further informed that it was also recommended to increase the margins of oil marketing companies and dealers. In this regard, the Ministry of Finance has been contacted. It is hoped that this matter will be resolved within the next 10 days. It may be recalled that the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association has announced a nationwide strike on Thursday, November 25 and directed the petrol pump owners to keep the petrol pumps closed from 6 am on November 25, according to the Petroleum Dealers Association. Petrol pumps across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chitral will remain closed from 6 am.

The government had promised to accept the demands but no contact has been made so far and the government did not accept our demands while we were also assured and we returned the call for strike on 5th November. But the government has not acted on the assurances. Until the dealer margin is raised to 6%, there will be no talks with the government. On the other hand, Federal Minister for Energy Muhammad Hamad Azhar has said that we are in touch with the Petroleum Dealers Association. ۔ In his statement, Hamad Azhar said that a summary on margin revision has already been submitted to the ECC and a decision will be taken at the next ECC meeting.
