Kasur: A case has been registered after videos of violence against women in police custody came to light
Police in Kasur district of Punjab province have registered a case against a private woman who is not a police officer in a case of violence against two women at Saddar police station.
The case was registered on November 22, while the woman who tortured two women in the police station has also been released on bail.
The case has been registered in the complaint of Muhammad Idrees Malik, sub-inspector of Saddar police station, in which it has been said that the additional editor of the police station has shown a video in which a woman is torturing an accused. The accused was in police custody on a physical remand in a case of theft and robbery.
The lawsuit alleges that the video was made by a lady constable in charge of the accused and that the investigating officer and the lady constable had committed the crime by torturing the accused with a private woman.
Kasur District Police Chief Shoaib Ashraf, when contacted, claimed that the matter had not yet gone viral on social media and that all the action had been taken upon receiving the information, not only that a case had been registered but also the woman. He was also arrested.
What's in the video and why are the women arrested?
Two videos have gone viral on social media. A video shows a woman lying upside down on the floor in a small room. A burqa-clad woman who has not covered her face is showering shoes on the woman's back. When a woman lying on the floor puts her hand on her back to save herself, she asks him to remove his hand.
The burqa-clad woman keeps raining shoes on the woman lying on the floor and pulls her hair. This video is about two minutes long.
In this video, it is clearly felt that the burqa-clad woman wants all the videos of violence to be made clear.
In another video, two women are seen lying face down on the floor, one of whom is the same woman who was tortured in the first video. A burqa-clad woman beats both women with her shoes. The shoe seen in both videos is the same.
In this video, it can be seen that women regularly pose for making videos.
Both the arrested accused women are residents of Lahore lorry depot. He is accused of aiding and abetting a robbery in Kasur. The two women were working as housemaids in the house where the robbery took place and they were arrested from their house in Lari Ada, Lahore.
According to Shoaib Ashraf, the district police chief, there is no denying that this is a very sad incident. This may include incompetence or negligence of the police officers but Punjab and Kasur police are not ready to tolerate any incident of violence.
He said that for this reason, the SHO of the police station and the investigating officer were immediately suspended while an investigation committee has been set up to get concrete information about the incident which will submit a report in the next two days. ۔
According to him, in addition to departmental action, legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in it.
