 The price of sugar has come down by more than Rs 60 per kg since the start of shipments from local sugar mills. According to the details, after breaking all the records of price rise in the country a few days ago, now the prices of sugar have started falling continuously.

According to media reports, the availability and price situation of local sugar has significantly improved in most cities of the country. In many cities, the price of sugar has come down to below Rs 100 per kg. With the commencement of crushing season and supply of local sugar from sugar mills, the availability and price of sugar has improved.





However, due to the stock of imported sugar already in the market, the price of sugar is likely to come down further in the coming days.


According to the report issued regarding the price of sugar, local sugar is being sold at Rs 95 to 100 per kg in wholesale in Lahore and soon local sugar will also be available at Rs 105 to 110 per kg in retail. The wholesale price of sugar in Islamabad is Rs 94 per kg, while the average retail price is Rs 100 per kg. In Quetta, the price of sugar has come down by Rs 10 per kg, after which the price of sugar has come down to Rs 100 per kg, while in some areas of the city, sugar is being sold at Rs 105 to 108 per kg.

In Hyderabad, the price of sugar has come down by Rs 10-14 per kg and the price of sugar has come down to between Rs 100-96 per kg. Sugar is being sold at Rs 95 per kg in the wholesale market of Peshawar while sugar is being sold at Rs 105 per kg in the retail market. The government-imported sugar is also



being sold in the city for Rs. 90. Apart from this, the situation of sugar price has also improved in Karachi and other cities of the country. It should be noted that the government had claimed that after the start of the crushing season, the price of sugar would come down below Rs 100.
